Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Better sleep should be for everyone. We want the Aveira website and the Aveira One clock itself to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability. This page explains what we've done so far, what the product offers, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

This website

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the widely used standard for web accessibility. Steps we've taken:

  • Text and background colors are chosen for strong contrast.
  • Every photo has a written description for screen readers.
  • The whole site works with a keyboard, no mouse required, with visible focus outlines.
  • Headings are structured so screen readers can skim the page the way sighted visitors do.
  • Animations are subtle, and if your device is set to "reduce motion," they turn off entirely.
  • Forms have proper labels, and buttons say what they do.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% without breaking the layout.

The Aveira One clock

Accessibility shaped the product's design, not just the website:

  • Simple physical controls. Day to day, the clock is operated with one physical knob you can feel. The Aveira Companion App handles setup and settings from your phone.
  • Big, bright time display with adjustable brightness, readable across the room without glasses.
  • A warm under-glow light gives a visual cue alongside the alarm's sound, helpful for anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Docking is one motion, set the phone down on top. Magnets guide it into place, so no precise alignment or fine motor control is needed.
  • Nothing to see or hear you, with no camera or microphone, there's nothing to configure to protect your privacy.

Known limits, honestly

We're a three-person student team and the product is still in development. Some prototype photos may have lower contrast than we'd like, and the clock's accessibility features are still being tested with real users. If you rely on assistive technology and something on this site doesn't work, that's a bug we want to fix.

Tell us what's not working

If you hit a barrier anywhere on this site, or have an idea that would make the clock work better for you, email aveirasmartclock@gmail.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line. A founder will reply, and real feedback genuinely changes what we build.
